New Kia Telluride | Cincinnati OH

The Kia Telluride Comes Back with a Slight Tweak for 2021

The Kia Telluride is still a top-notch three-row midsize crossover SUV. Last year, it blew away critics and consumers with its premium-oriented quality, and it's back for more acclaim with its 2021 iteration. An option package is available to transform the Telluride into a more aggressive-looking driving machine. Other than that, it's still the same fun-to-drive and tech-laden offering, and it's still available in LX, S, EX, and SX flavors.

Design & Performance

New for 2021 is the Nightfall Edition package, which enhances the Kia Telluride with a black grille, black alloy wheels, and glossy black exterior trim. This optional package is available on the upper-level EX and SX trim levels. However, even without this package, the Telluride looks awesome-with its kidney-like grille, modern wagon-like profile, and large, 18-inch alloy wheels.

A 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 powers the Kia Telluride for amazing acceleration, and the accompanying eight-speed automatic transmission delivers smooth shifts. Fuel economy is estimated at 20/26 mpg, and you have the option of going with an all-wheel drivetrain for optimized grip on slippery surfaces.

Technology & Safety

For infotainment, the 2021 Kia Telluride relies on the UVO multimedia system, which uses an 8-inch touchscreen interface. It brings together elements such as a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, six USB ports, an audio jack, and smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There's also a proximity keyless entry system with push-button start and remote start for absolute ease of access and engine starting.

Options or upper-level features dual-zone automatic climate control system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a garage-door opener, wireless phone charging, a navigation system, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

The Telluride is armed with several driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and driver attention warning. However, if there's a crash, the Telluride can deploy any of its seven airbags to provide protection. Upgrading in trim increases the chances of getting enhancements such as highway driving assist, high beam assist, and a surround-view camera.
